Air Guitar Belgium
BEL
After last year's success, Dour Festival is once again proud to welcome the grand final of the Belgian Air Guitar Championships! Playing the air guitar is a pastime undertaken in all four corners of the globe since, experts estimate, the 1969 Woodstock festival, at which Joe Cocker surprised his audience with a short demonstration of the art. Since 1996 there has been a yearly Air Guitar Championship in Oulo, Finland. This year, no less than 30 nations will take to the stage. That's why at Dour, 10 winners of the preliminary rounds that have taken place around Belgium since December will come together to compete for the coveted title of national champion, won last year by AirGus. The winner, as well as winning a wonderful Gibson Les Paul (not the Air version), will win the honour of representing Belgium in Finland at the World Championships.
