The American thrash/metal/punk group GWAR formed in 1985. Since then, they have become well-known for their science-fiction and horror film inspired costumes. Their primary goal: highlight the ridiculousness of the human race, whether it be political, ecological or just in general. GWAR achieve this aim very well in their own vulgar, humorous, burlesque manner. This group was repeatedly asked for in the festival forum and the organisers finally agreed to put them on the bill.
