The links between house music and hip-hop have always existed. A new name has even been coined from the historic melding of the two musical styles: hip-house, of which the American Channel Tres has recently become one of the spearheads. The artist, who has collaborated with Kehlani and Shamir, has been following a solo path since 2018 and has already produced two EPs, which we can imagine will resonate equally as well at the Dour Festival as in a Detroit warehouse or on a California beach.
