UGA (Kampala)

The Kampala music scene and the Nyege Nyege Tapes label are consistent gold mines for musical projects, each one more brilliant than the last. After DJ Kampire in 2019, it's Nihiloxica's turn to waltz in to the Dour Festival armed with his rhythms from East Africa. A project combining percussion from the Nilotica Cultural Ensemble's Buganda and the techno tones of the producers Spooky-J and pq, Nihiloxica explores the relationships between these organic and electronic influences via trance. After a first eponymous EP in 2017, in 2019 Nihiloxica released a second opus entitled "Biiri", on the unmissable Nyege Nyege Tapes. Can you feel your legs moving uncontrollably? That's nothing. That's just Nihiloxica's trance taking effect.
