For 29 years now, the organisers have been doing their utmost to put together a unique, alternative and strong programme that brings together fans of rock, electro, reggae and even hip-hop. A line-up that combines legendary artists, discoveries and diversity and creates a massive party for nearly 242 000 music lovers from all over Europe, for 5 days of love and alternative music.
Dour stands for major artists as well as for a giant laboratory for new musical trends and future headliners. Of course you can go and enjoy the shows of The Chemical Brothers, Soulwax, Booba, Mura Masa, Tyler, the Creator, Nekfeu, alt-J or Paul Kalkbrenner. But Dour is more than that, we wanted to conclude our line-up with our precious Le Labo en the excellent programme for the Dub Corner, which becomes a greater success each year.
We start with Le Labo, a laboratory reserved for experimenting with new ideas ranging from rock to world music. With pleasure we see projects arrive from all corners of the world.
In the first place, the festival supports the Belgian scene. Let’s start with the duo Soldout, who just announced to put an end to the project and to finish with some nice concerts. With great joy the rapper Veence Hanao returns to the rap game accompanied by Le Motel. You can expect a whirlwind of bass from DC Salas, who’ll share the stage with their live band, but also from the company of YellowStraps, Tsar B and Atome. You’ll find all kinds of rock with the eager Mugwump, Theo Clark and Choolers Division, the genius project between 2 MC’s with Down’s syndrome.
On Wednesday 11th of July, we also handed a carte blanche to the label DeeWee, from the brothers Dewaele (Soulwax, 2manydjs). They give refuge to: Charlotte Adigery, Asa Moto, Klanken and Future Sound of Antwerp but also to the Brazilian Phillipi & Rodrigo and the project of the Chinese madman Bolis Pupul.
From the other corners of the world we welcome, among others, the American Kim Ann Foxman and the melancholic but sunny music of her compatriot Porches, the captivating South-African house from DJ Lag, the Syrian Rizan Said, the Egyptians of Cairo Liberation Front, who are bringing their cha3bi electro, the French pop of Malik Djoudi and the talented Englishman Swindle, halfway between dubstep and grime.
Like every year again there is a very large offer in the Dub Corner, traditionally you’ll find Reggaebus Sound system there for 4 days. Next to that there is Jah Shaka, Maasai Warrior, Weeding Dub, Sista Habesha feat. Arkaingelle, Lion’s Den, Dubkasm, Alpha Steppa feat. Nai-Jah, Unification Soundsystem, Black Bird Sound System, Black Magic Plastic and Legal Shot Sound System feat. Mr. Williamz.
As very last, we are adding the dark London techno of Dax J to the line-up for the Red Bull Elektropedia Balzaal.
In total you’ll find 224 bands and artists on the stages of Dour Festival this summer.
