Wallonie-Bruxelles Musiques (WBM) and Dour Festival: discovering the Belgian music scene
Wallonie-Bruxelles Musiques (WBM) was created in 1984 as a public service with the sole purpose to support the export of the music sector of the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles (Belgium). Dour Festival has been known for years now for its exquisite, diverse and contemporary selection of Belgian and international projects.
It was only a matter of common sense that these two organizations joined their forces a few years back to promote our national creations among foreign audiences and professionals, both representing each year a large proportion of the festival’s visitors.
Committed to support artists from the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles, WBM has teamed up with its Dutch-speaking equivalent, Poppunt and together, with the support of SABAM for Culture, they created Belgium Booms.
This association unifies the representation and support of Belgian musical acts in favour of the international scene, regardless if they are from Bruxelles, Wallonia or Flandres. Together they help acts with promotional assistance, the organisation of showcases, representation in professional festivals, inviting foreign prospects, etc…
