Biography

Pete Rock & CL Smooth are a New York hip-hop group formed in 1991. Made up of Pete Rock (Peter Phillips) and the rapper CL Smooth (Corey Penn), they released a first album entitled All Souled Out the year of their inception. The following year a second album came out – Mecca And The Soul brother, considered by many as their best release. In 1994, they put out The Main Ingredient, before separating in 1995. Pete Rock continued solo, putting out 5 albums (including some collaborations with CL Smooth), all critically acclaimed. CL Smooth released his own solo album American Me (with one production by Pete Rock) in 2006. To the great pleasure of all their fans, they will be at Dour this summer.
