Mathilde Fernandez operates at the crossroads of the visual arts, spanning both performing and plastic practices. It is through exploring the many possibilities of her voice that her musical project first emerged. Today, whether in electronic or acoustic forms, her voice carries strong lyrical influences, inhabited by the echoes of a lineage of learned women whom she invokes and celebrates. Breaking down the boundaries between disciplines comes as a natural impulse to her. This approach leads her to radically hybridize forms, blending performance, sound, music, video, installation, theatre, dance, writing, and curating.
