Azzi On The Beat

Waris Rasheed is a multidisciplinary artist of Nigerian origin, best known as “Azzi on the Beat.” He discovered his talents at a young age and has developed his skills across all areas of the performing arts. For over a decade, as a dancer, music producer, and all-around artist, he has been creating works and telling stories through his Yoruba movement aesthetic. Drawing on a wide range of indigenous Yoruba knowledge, he weaves philosophical and cultural elements into his practice, using them as guiding forces for his art.
